Jane Kleiss Files to Represent 75th District in the State Assembly

May 31, 2024/Madison, WI – Jane Kleiss officially filed Declaration of Candidacy and Nomination Papers at the Elections Commission in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday, May 31, 2024.

“Today is the culmination of a whirlwind 5 weeks since I made the decision to run to represent the 75th District in our State Assembly,” said Jane. “I’d like to thank everyone who knocked on doors and collected signatures on my behalf so that I can make sure our voices are heard this election cycle.”

Jane Kleiss first publicly announced her candidacy at the Polk County Democrats meeting on May 9th. Her campaign will focus on finding common ground between opposing viewpoints to find creative solutions to the issues facing our district – such as funding for education at all levels in our state, access to healthcare and mental health services in rural communities, and protecting our natural resources for future generations. As the lone Democratic candidate to represent the 75th Assembly District, Jane will have to wait for the August 13th primary to find out which of the three Republican candidates she will face in November’s general election.

“The number of people who have thanked me personally for taking this leap into state politics has been incredibly encouraging,” said Jane. “Good governance of our state should not be a team sport, where our elected representatives refuse to work together to avoid the appearance of giving the other team a ‘win’. We must work together to find common ground and address the issues facing our rural communities.”
